Computer-Based Information System (CBIS)

In the context of information systems management, or better known as the Management Information System (MIS), an organization refers to several terms, including MIS Department, IS (Information Systems) Department, Information Technology Department and the Information Services Department. Whatever name is given, the bottom line is this functional area related to the planning, development, management and use of information technology tools to assist humans in performing a variety of tasks related to information processing and management.
